This Avengers time-tale has plenty of flash backs from not only Avengers stories but Marvel comics history as well. I highly recommend it.

This story from the late Mark Gruenwald is just as good as Marvels. The only down side was the rotation of artists. The artwork mostly looked the same (dated). As I read the series I kept asking myself "How good would this story be with a super-star artist and (new) coloring? Very good I'd say.
