2011 in 2011. The End Of Week 40!

Hello Chums,

Forty weeks down. I could say it went fast but it really hasn't. Since I started this challenge, each week has brought the question "Okay, what do I read now?" It has taken a lot of reading on my part to make it this far and now I'm in the final stretch. Only 12 weeks to go!

I battled and was able to knock out 39 more comics this week. Check them out.

2011 in 2011. The End Of Week 39!

Hello Chums,

Another week down and not much reading to show for it. Only twenty three comics read this week. Bummer! I need to really pick up my output for this next week. We'll see. On to my never ending list.

From the collected edition Invincible vol.4 Head Of The Class:

#1654. Invincible #14.

#1655. Invincible #15.

#1656. Invincible #16.

#1657. Invincible #17.

#1658. Invincible #18.

#1659. Invincible #19.

#1660. Image Summer Special #1.

From the collected edition Invincible vol.5 The Facts Of Life:

#1661. Invincible #20.

#1662. Invincible #21.

#1663. Invincible #22.

#1664. Invincible #23.

#1665. Invincible #24.

#1666. Invincible #0.

#1667. The New Avengers #16.1.

#1668. Brilliant #1.

#1669. Kick-Ass 2 #4. The Must Read Book For All Psychopaths!

#1670. Batman - The Dark Knight #1.

2011 in 2011. The End Of Week 38!

Hello Chums,

With the new TV season upon us (along with college football), my comic book reading has been down these last two weeks. I need to seriously pick the up pace from here on out. We'll see if I can re-focus.

From the collected edition Daredevil Yellow:

#1623. Daredevil Yellow #1.

#1624. Daredevil Yellow #2.

#1625. Daredevil Yellow #3.

#1626. Daredevil Yellow #4.

#1627. Daredevil Yellow #5.

#1628. Daredevil Yellow #6.

For my money you just can't beat the creative team of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. Where's Captain America White?

From the collected edition Jim Silke's Bettie Page - Queen of the Nile:

#1629. Bettie Page: Spicy Adventure.

#1630. Bettie Page: Queen of the Nile #1.

#1631. Bettie Page: Queen of the Nile #2.

#1632. Bettie Page: Queen of the Nile #3.

Although Mr. Silke's art was very good, his writing (for this collection) had way too many holes in it. These maybe the worst written comics I've read this year.

From the collected edition Invincible vol.3 Perfect Strangers:

#1633. Invincible #9.

#1634. Invincible #10.

#1635. Invincible #11.

#1636. Invincible #12.

#1637. Invincible #13.

Okay, people have told me that Invincible is "great", "awesome" or "you have to read it". After reading trade number three, I can see why. Trade one and two were okay. Trade three? A real game changer. I will have to keep reading now.

#1638. Damaged #2. More crime comics.

#1639. Near Death #1. Okay, another crime comic!

#164o. The Bionic Man #2.

#1641. Star Trek #1. The launch of the movie inspired alternate reality series!

#1642. The Red Wing #3.

#1643. The Li'l Depressed Boy #6.

#1644. A Game of Thrones #1.

#1645. Planet of the Apes #6.

#1646. Daredevil #3.

#1647. Daredevil #4.

#1648. Avengers #17.

#1649. Avengers - The Children's Crusade #7. Great art and story. A must read.

#1650. Wonder Woman #1. A Huge Misfire! Dropped Now!

#1651. Batman - Legends of the Dark Knight #32.

#1652. Batman - Legends of the Dark Knight #33.

#1653. Batman - Legends of the Dark Knight #34.

More Tim Sale (early) art!

So thirty one comics read this week. Not too bad. That leaves me with just 348 comics left to read.

Keep Reading Comics.

2011 in 2011. The End Of Week 37!

Hello Chums,

Only twenty two comics read this week. That is a bad output (comics read) for me (for one week's time). However since I'm way ahead on my reading schedule that's okay for one week.

From the collected edition Cerebus vol. 8 Women:

#1601. Cerebus #163.

#1602. Cerebus #164.

#1603. Cerebus #165.

#1604. Cerebus #166.

#1605. Cerebus #167.

#1606. Cerebus #168.

#1607. Cerebus #169.

#1608. Cerebus #170.

#1609. Cerebus #171.

#1610. Cerebus #172.

#1611. Cerebus #173.

#1612. Cerebus #174.

#1613. Fear Itself #6.

#1614. Alpha Flight #4.

#1615. The New Avengers #16.

#1616. The Stand - The Night Has Come #2.

#1617. Criminal - The Last of the Innocent #4.

#1618. Punisher Max #17.

#1619. Batwoman #1. Great start!

#1620. Demon Knights #1.

#1621. Baltimore - The Curse Bells #2.

#1622. Sergio Aragones - Funnies #3.

Only 22? Okay I need to read more comics next week. On the upside only 389 comic books to read!

Keep Reading Comics.

2011 in 2011. The End Of Week 35!

Hello Chums,

With the real U.S. Open in full swing (Tennis, Yes!), I haven't read as many books this week. But check them out anyway.

#1512. Cerebus #114.

#1513. Cerebus #115.

#1514. Cerebus #116.

#1547. Spider-Man Blue #6.

#1548. Planet of the Apes #5.

#1549. eggs #1. An autobiographical mini-comic by local writer/artist Eric Gorman. Much in the vain of some of the best Jeffery Brown comics, eggs features stories of Gorman's life. Stories include his work in a sex shop, taking an acid "trip" and a high school story about wearing a coat. Great start! I hope to see more of his work.

So only 38 comics read this week. But that's okay with me.

Keep Reading Comics.

Okay that leaves me with just 500 comic books to read in my quest for 2011 in 2011.

Keep Reading Comics.
